CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE

August 2017

Central Elementary is located in Gulfport, MS, and quite possibly one of the oldest elementary schools on the Gulf Coast.  Over the summer, Gulfport School District Superintendent, Glen East, announced that the district goal for the 2017-2018 school year was that every school would reach a 97% attendance rate.

Because of our ongoing commitment to support Central Elementary School, Bannister Foundation has decided to challenge the families and students students of CES this year. Our challenge to the families is simple: Bring Your Children to School Everyday! For any child who has perfect attendance for the first half of the school year, the family will receive a $100 Walmart Gift Card, courtesy of Bannister Foundation.

We've also committed to challenging the 5th grade students, more specifically.  The challenge is the same: come to school everyday! Every quarter Bannister Foundation will throw a party for any 5th grade student with at least 95% attendance for the quarter. And any 5th grade student who has 97% attendance for the year at the end of the year, we'll take them to zoo!
